There are generally two things that change at weekend Masses:The homily and the music.Much time and effort is put into blending these together as much as possible soyoucan get the most out of the Liturgy.Music is just one more way to pray, to come together in worship and share our love for each other and for our God.
Our Music Ministry program is over 100 members strong and strives to offer a wide variety of styles at all Masses …’something for everyone’.We currently have 13 Cantors, an Adult-Choir, a Praise Band, a Teen Choir and a Youth Choir. Our choirs run from mid-September until Pentecost each year.
Each Cantor has a particular style, some more classical, cont. rock, traditional etc. etc.All great! Each Cantor sings at Masses that are convenient for them on a rotating basis.
Our Adult Choir is under the very capable direction of Anthony Pandolfe. This Choir sings traditional choral music and is fantastic! They rehearse each Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9:00and sing at alternating Masses every other weekend.
Our Praise Band is an awesome Christian Rock Band. They just keep growing and getting better and better! They rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00 and sing at alternating Masses every other weekend also.
Our Teen Choir is a fantastic group of High-School aged Teens with a truly beautiful sound. They sing a combination of traditional and contemporary music. They typically rehearse two Tuesday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00 and sing once a month or so.
This ‘high-energy’ group sings all the same songs from our Missal with a full drum/orchestra back-up and also lots of contemporary music.Definitely a ‘Baptist-twist’!They certainly pack the church when they sing! They rehearse two Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 and sing about once a month also..The members learn much more than music. They learn about helping each other, about different aspects of the Liturgical year and Mass, about working together and having LOTS of fun.If a child is able to read, and sit through Mass quietly, they can join!
The common thread all these have is that we have FUN.We love what we do, we love each other, and we love our Ministry. That comes across in all that we do, and is probably the reason that we are growing so quickly.
I know with all my heart that God had plans to bring me to this parish family a very long time before the parish was even formed.I love my ministry, and all those who I have had the pleasure of working with and meeting. This is one GREAT place, truly a Holy Family of it’s own.I always welcome suggestions, ideas, comments….any time.It is never too late to join us…just stop by and introduce yourself!
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU!
